Workshop Level

This workshop is designed for dancers who are already familiar with Slow Balboa and want to take their dancing to the next level. It will be challenging, fun, and full of new ideas that are still in line with the classic Slow Bal vibe! If you are new to Slow Balboa but are ready for a fast-paced environment and have a background in other close-embrace dances like Pure Bal or Tango, we welcome you as well, but highly suggest you take the Intro to Slow Balboa class Friday night.

Lodging & Transportation

Although there is no “official” hotel for this event, the Moxy Cheery Creek is ideally located. Last we checked, there were two-bed rooms available for $204/night pre-paid and this hotel is walking distance to the class venue and a ton of great restaurants as well as a 10 minute ride to the Friday night dance venue and Union Station (the train stop from the Denver airport). Note that the Saturday night venue, in Boulder, is about 30 minutes away by car, and we suggest coordinating rideshares there and back. (We’ll remind you of that in class on Saturday so you can find a buddy!)

Cost

$95 includes six hours of high quality instruction, 1.5 hours of a guided practice (with snacks 😉 ) and the Saturday night social dance — both the live music swing social in collaboration with Boulder Swings that starts at 8 pm and the DJ’d All Slow Bal social in the same location that starts at 9:00 pm.

Optional: In collaboration with the Colorado Swing Dance Club
Join us on Friday night! We’ll be teaching a drop-in Intro to Slow Bal class and we’d love for you to join us to refresh your knowledge base or learn a second role. Following the lesson there will be a mixed tempo Balboa social dance (with a lindy hop social in the same venue). Cost: $10 class / $10 social dance paid at the door to the Colorado Swing Dance Club.
